Diseases that affect the ovarian sector are most of the times developed without any visible effect in its first two phases. The survival rate is clearly affected even though there is nothing to indicate the existing affection, and this is the main reason for its so called nick name by the community groups for cancerous afflictions: the silent criminal. The reproductive system is attacked gradually by tumor mass conglomerates and until it is properly developed, it makes no sound, no symptomatic phase, and no nothing.

The causes, as we pointed out in other materials, in unknown by the whole medical community that tries very hard to know more about it. There are however, some key indicators that lead to this disease and these are called risk factors.
These are directly linked with the fact that most of the women who reach the age of fifty five are more likely to acquire ovarian cancerous affections. The age of fifty five in most of the cases unbalances the cell’s normal activity, making the whole process react very strange.
The cells that previously helped the overall tissue to regenerate and keep everything in order, are now dividing uncontrollable without a proper function. The body does not waste anything, so the cells gather around and form a mass of tissue that is known as a tumor. Along with age, there are hereditary risk factors that point out the fact that if a woman has a first or even second degree relative, in her family, that once in her life time developed a form of carcinoma infection, is likely to develop it also. This is because many of the genetic materials that make us, along with the DNA, are passed on from our first degree relatives.
There were some old research reports that have linked the apparition to all sorts of cancerous diseases to age, hereditary, life style choices such as sedentary life or high caloric consumption, with fatty foods that can lead fast to obesity and other related physical difficulties. But one of all this has been very often associated with the development of the ovarian cancer, and this is the stress factor.
The survival rate of the ovarian cancer reflects the number of individuals with a clear form and stage of ovarian carcinoma that managed to live and conquer the affection but delimitated for a period of time.
The more common pathology of ovarian cancers highlights a period of time that is stretched up to five years. This five year period represents the percentage of suffering individuals who, after the diagnosis was set live for about five years. This cases are usually terminal and are encountered in women that did not manage to get a proper diagnose in the first and second stage. Unfortunately this is very difficult to do even for a specialized gynecologist and this is why keeping informed and aware sometimes helps prevent it.
