Ovarian Cancer Statistics

Treatments against infertility do not increase the risk of developing ovarian cancer, say Danish researches, quoted by AFP. The study, led by Allan Jensen from the Danish cancer society in the period 1963-1998 contradicted previous theories. Published in the British Medical Journal specialist magazine, the document states that 156 women in a sample of 54,362 women who had fertility problems had developed ovarian cancer. Most ovarian cancer cases are caused by certain skin cells that take the ovaries as ovarian cancer statistics show and scientists have believed that there is a link between ovarian cancer and ovulation for a long time, involving cycles of destruction - the regeneration of these cells, says Telegraph, citing the above-mentioned study.

Following this initial hypothesis, treatments that stimulate ovulation were considered a risk factor for the onset of ovarian cancer. Danish researchers found no increased risk of cancer in women who have undergone treatments for infertility, not even in the case of those who have completed more than ten series of treatments or those who got pregnant. They play a critical role in both prevention diseases and during therapy. There is an undeniable link between diet and daily trigger carcinogenesis, as ovarian cancer statistics have shown.
