Ovarian cancer is the number four assassin between all the cancerous diseases and it claims the lives of more than fifty two thousand women each year, not to put in the balance the other one hundred thousand suffering women that are diagnosed with it also in the course of one year.

While many people are trying to figure out the proper methods that make the ovarian cancer appear, the women are suffering the effects of the not so various therapy methods, and we are talking about the radiation therapy, the chemo therapy and others such destructive but good, if we might say so in the long run.


The ovarian cancer appears in the internal region of the reproductive system. It mainly focuses its attention on the tissue wall that is between the ovary and the fallopian tubes. This part of the tissue has an interesting cell activity and here is usually where the ovarian cancerous diseases develop their weapon, the tumor.


The tumor is formed from the cells that have no basic purpose. The cell division and all their responsibility starts when another cell dies. It is a life cycle, as in everything else in nature, and after fulfilling all of their responsibilities, they are rapidly substitute by other freshly divided cells, which take over as soon as the previous cell dies.


In the ovarian cancerous disease, the old cell that does not perform very well, dies unexpectedly, and the body does not know if more cells need to be divided or not, and this is why the whole structure can create imbalances, can make the whole tissue layers to produce more and more cells, but without a main purpose, so they gather up and form a tissue mass conglomerate.


The tumor can be developed in two basic forms. The benign tumor which is the good from a bad situation is not deadly and can not lead to complications. It can be removed, either by a light chemo therapy, or by a surgical operation. After the surgery there are very little chances of recurrence, and the whole ovarian cancer can become a thing of the past.


With the malignant tumor, things get a little more complicated and this is why the whole treatment finds and constant search is necessary. The staging in the ovarian cancer can be a problem. The fourth or the final stage usually is defined by the complications that appear. The malignant tumor spreads real fast and other organs are affected, especially when the final stage of the ovarian cancer kicks in.


Surgery is a solution but with not such high chances of success, and the probably of recurrence cases are also high, so in ten or twenty years the cancer may reappear in other forms.


The main weapons here are prevention, and keeping properly informed about all the details regarding the disease, medical records and risk factors that can be avoided.
